Olympic Hot Tub Company Expands to Eastside

Booming Business in 25th Anniversary Year Leads to New Store in Issaquah
Olympic Hot Tub Company, the Seattle area's first hot tub dealer, today opened the doors of its newest retail showroom in Issaquah. Located in Pickering Place Shopping Center, at 1151 NW Sammamish Road, the 3000 square-foot showroom is the company's first on the Eastside and the first to feature a "mood room" for customer testing. The grand opening of the store is scheduled for October 12 and will feature a live remote radio broadcast by KING-FM and specials on Olympic Hot Tub's signature spa lines and water care products.

"Our 25th anniversary year has been a record year for us, so we seized the opportunity to expand our business to the Eastside. With the growth in the Issaquah-Sammamish area, we want homeowners, builders and renovators to come in and see how an affordable, energy-efficient hot tub fits into their plans," said Olympic Hot Tub Company's co-owner Alice Cunningham.

Cunningham attributes increased sales to several factors - an increase in home investment, the embrace of hot tubs as an asset to health-oriented, family-centered lifestyles, the success of their Web site, their many years in business as the market leader and their referral base - 45% of their new business is from referrals by satisfied owners.

"After September 11, interests shifted to spending time in the home. Many customers are taking advantage of low interest rates to refinance their homes, and one of their top priorities is adding a hot tub," said Cunningham.

"When hot tubs first became popular, they seemed to appeal more to couples, but today, having a hot tub is more for family enjoyment," said Cunningham. "Our customers tell us that having a hot tub means that they spend time with their children in their hot tub and their kids ask their friends over to the house more." Web traffic to the Olympic Hot Tub Company site, ww.olympichottub.com, has also played a significant role in making 2002 a record year. This year alone, about 19 percent of total sales are a result of products and accessories sales at their on-line store.
